From the Chairman's Desk

Welcome to the VOSH-Indiana website! I hope your visit here will be both informative and entertaining. I believe we have an interesting history of service to the less fortunate of the world. Since early 1973 VOSH-Indiana has been taking groups of optometrists and other interested people to Third World countries to provide quality eyecare to people who would otherwise not have this service available.

A typical VOSH-Indiana eyecare mission is one week in length. Working 4 days, the group provides eyecare to approximately 4000 people. Because of the recycled eyeglasses we give them, patients have a new outlook on the world. Often tears of joy are shed upon being able to see for the first time in many years. We take for granted the eyeglasses we have to correct our vision problems. Without the glasses I wear, I would be unable to see what I do here at the computer. Would I take a pair of used eyeglasses to make near work possible? You bet I would!!! It is no wonder people begin to arrive at the worksite before dawn and patiently wait in line for hours.

Please help us to continue our work around the world by joining VOSH-Indiana. Your dues go to help us provide the much needed eyecare to the less fortunate people in developing countries.

Feel free to contact me with questions regarding our activities.
